Baseball Program Information

This spring 2024, Eagles Baseball begins its seventh year of high school baseball in KASHAA. We begin in March and run through early May with an emphasis on refining our baseball skills through repetitive drills, practice and games. The team is made up of homeschool students from around the area (freshman through senior).

This is high school baseball. We compete against public school JV teams like Southeast of Saline Trojans and Clay Center Tigers as well as homeschool teams like Wichita Warriors and the Defenders, and a few private schools too (Heritage Christian, Sunrise Christian).

***Player fee: $75 (with a discount for a 3rd player in the same family). Player provides gray baseball pants, black belt, cleats and glove. We have an assortment of bats, along with other baseball gear. We will wear our maroon jerseys on the road and at home. Each player receives a team hat to keep.***

Initial practice schedule (also on the online calendar):

Practices are 2:50pm-4:30pm at Sunset Park and home games are played at Matson Field; both are in Salina.

Monday March 4 First Official Practice

Tuesday March 5, Thursday March 7, Friday March 8, Monday March 11, Tuesday March 12

The rest of the practice schedule will be released as we head into the first game of the season on March 19th. They will be updated on this page via the Google calendar.

Games begin March 19 at SES, and end May 10 hosting Heritage Christian.

***Throughout the spring, some voluntary batting practice days will be held at Sunset Park in Salina or Eagle Park near Lindsborg on our farm on some Saturdays or off days as weather and schedules permit. They are not mandatory, just held for extra hitting time and fellowship***

All plans are subject to weather. We will see what early spring weather brings to our practice schedule and add from there. We have access to a warehouse on Broadway Blvd in Salina for bad weather days for indoor practices.

Coach Jeff Garretson enters his seventh season at the helm of the Eagles. Garretson played college baseball at Kansas Wesleyan University and the University of Northern Colorado. He has coached at the high school level in Colorado, as well as leading B and C Legion teams in the summer and youth rec league baseball teams for several years.
